Inspired by Brett Morgen 2022 documentary ‘The Fire of Love’ featuring volcanic scientists and couple; Katia and Maurice Krafft.&nbsp; My favourite part of this Sparks project was the character animation, particularly finalising the personality and movements of the Kraffts. My aim was to emphasise the playfulness between them – I remember a scene from the documentary when Maurice throws a rock at Katia’s head to test out the heavy metal headgear. Each story highlights the meaning of the word spectrum in broad, beautiful and colourful ways. The Belties is written by Louise Osbourne and tells the story of a kind-hearted farmer who is tasked with sending his beloved cows to slaughter. He resorts to hiding his herd instead, in increasingly ridiculous ways.
